Travel to Penang - Part 1

Assalamualaikum and hi,

Alhamdulillah i had an opportunity to visit Penang again. First time i visited Penang was during my secondary school. I feel old now 😭.

Penang or Pulau Pinang is one of Malaysia States. Its located at the northwest coast of Peninsula Malaysia. Penang has two parts, the first part is Penang Island and the second part is Seberang Perai (wikipedia).

Penang is famous with its culture, heritage and foods. Fyi, Georgetown has been listed as a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site. So, to those who love food, vintage items and old school building, i recommend you to come here. 

I traveled with my cousins. The journey from Petaling Jaya takes about 4-5 hours depending on the traffic. If you traveled during school holiday, I suggest you prepared your physical and mental as the journey will take up to 8 hours if you lucky 🙊.

Ok, let's see what Penang can offer to you. Before that, i would like to inform you that we only stayed at Penang for 1 night, so there are some places that I wish i could visit, but I can't. Poor me.

Chulia Heritage Hotel

In Penang, we stayed at Chulia Heritage Hotel. The hotel located at 380, Chulia St, Georgetown (use waze to make your life easy). I booked 2 types of room, deluxe double and standard double. It cost RM130/room.

Nasi Kandar Line Clear

After check-in, we decided to try 'Nasi Kandar Line Clear', one of famous nasi kandar in Penang. Nasi Kandar is rice served with variety of curries and side dishes (wikipedia). This my first time tried nasi kandar. For me it was not bad.

Nasi Kandar Line Clear is near too Chulia Heritage Hotel. It only takes 5-6 minutes walk. Good cardio. Hopefully can burn the fat and lost 10kg haha.

Georgetown

After lunch, we take a tour around Georgetown. Since we only stayed for 2 days and 1 night, we have very limited time hence can only visit nearest place. 

Ais Tingkap

Ais Tingkap (window sherbet) is another famous dishes in Penang or Georgetown specifically. Ais Tingkap is located at Tamil Street, besides Chowrasta Market. To be honest, i imagined they sell the drink through window haha. Overthinking i know. 

For me, their cendol is the best. I still remembered the the sweet and creamy cendol and I do hope that I can have second chance to taste it. Ok serious dah terliur nih !  help ! help!

I'm so sorry I have to stop as my eyes are very heavy right now. Its almost 12 midnight, no wonder I'm so sleepy (I'm sleep-lover if you want to know 😛).
